Cozy apartment in the Italian Dolomites, close to the ski lift and nature trails
The mountains of Northern Italy are truly special. In winter, it’s a paradise for ski enthusiasts, and in summer, a haven for nature lovers. Here, you can ski in stunning areas like Madonna di Campiglio and Marilleva, hike through lush mountain landscapes, try your hand at river rafting, or simply enjoy the peace and views of the Dolomites. From the accommodation, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to the nearest ski lift, which takes you to Marilleva. From there, you can easily continue on to Madonna di Campiglio, and together they form a ski area with approximately 120 kilometers of slopes.
Folgarida is a small mountain village in the Dolomites with a cozy atmosphere and excellent amenities. There are five restaurants within walking distance, while the town of Dimaro (a 15-minute drive away) offers a wider selection of dining options and shops. The larger city of Trento is just an hour’s drive away and offers culture, shopping, and Italian city life.

We stayed in this lovely place during the first week of May—when neither the winter nor summer tourist seasons are in full swing. But it’s a great base for hiking in the mountains. A good tip for others who want to visit the area outside of ski season: stop by the tourist office in Dimaro. They’re very helpful with all kinds of information.
A lovely little private apartment with a stylish interior.
Close to the ski lift and easy to get down to Folgarida and visit La Buca.
A nice little apartment for a couple of guests, equipped with all the essentials, and a great starting point for hikes in the surrounding area. A car makes it easy to get to and from the apartment, but there are decent local bus connections just 10 minutes away.
The western Dolomites are less well-known than the eastern part, but I was pleasantly surprised by how magnificent the mountains and the natural landscape in general are (in the summer) in the west as well.
Lovely place, with a perfect terrace.
The restaurant La Buca in downtown Folgarida, about 1 km away, is fantastic.
Perfect mini-market; they make panini early in the morning to take as a packed lunch.
Perfect hiking trails, waterfalls, lakes, nature, mountains…
Please note that there is construction in the area during the summer, which causes some noise.
